A bikini wax gets rid of unwanted hair that might "peak out" when you are wearing a bikini. Most men and women get a bikini wax for swimming activities and beach days. If you are on vacation to a tropical place or somewhere with a swimming pool, a bikini wax is highly recommended to avoid embarrassment.

A Brazilian wax is a popular hair removal method. It consists of a bikini wax plus the front, side, back and everything in between the bikini area. In other words, unwanted hair is removed from the pubic and perianal area. For the front pubic area, you can choose between a small strip, triangle, square, rectangle, oval-shaped piece of hair or complete hair removal.

Results can last anywhere between 3 to 6 weeks. Often, our clients unwanted hair grow back noticeably around the third and fourth week. We recommend clients to get waxed every 3 to 4 weeks for most body parts, while the underarms and facial hair should be done more frequently.

There are three factors to consider with waxing:

• how many body parts are involved;
• the density of hair growth in those areas

The more surface area involved and the thicker amount of hair there is, the longer it can take. Waxing can be between 5 to 15 minutes long per body part. A typical session for our clients last between 15 to 60 minutes.

It seems silly, but we often see clients coming in for a wax session when their hair is too short. This can make a wax session ineffective because the hair does not have enough surface area for our wax to adhere to so we can pull them out.

For the most effective waxing session to remove unwanted hair, hair should be around one quarter to one half of an inch long. A good rule of thumb (or rather, "rule of pinky") is to measure your hair against your pinky finger nail. It should cover at least half to three-quarters of the nail. If you can grab your hair, we can also wax it.

If you trim or shave your hair, let it grow at least 2 weeks before getting waxed. It might be a long time, especially if this is your first time. However, it will get better as you wax! We promise.

It might seem as though hair grows back coarser and thicker, this is not true. Waxing does thin the hair, but it doesn't affect its growth rate or thickness.

It can weaken your hair follicles and cause hair to regrow finer and lighter if too many waxing sessions are conducted in a short period of time. We recommend clients to get waxed every 3 to 4 weeks for most body parts, while the underarms and facial hair should be done more frequently.
